  • The IrDA-to-PC Board features an MCP2120 high-performance, fully-static infrared encoder/decoder placed between a UART module and a TFDU4101 infrared optical transceiver and other electronics required for connecting your PC with IrDA devices. With this module, you can send and receive data from your PC using IrDA communication easily. The board connects to a PC via a DB9 RS232 serial port. You can use any basic UART terminal program.

    The IrDA-to-PC board is ideal for wireless infrared data communication between your PC and IrDA devices like remote controls or anything that uses an IR remote, like home entertainment systems, etc. Three jumpers on the board allow you to select between five different baud rates: 14.4k, 28.8k, 57.6k, 86.4k and 172.8k (note that 172.8k is outside the specified range of the TFDU4101 transceiver). The board requires an external power supply of between 8V and 16V.
