The EmbestUniversity ARM Teaching package is a ready-to-use teaching aid for universities and other higher education establishments. The evaluation board included in the EmbestUniversity package is the Embest S3CEV40 board, which is based on the Samsung S3C44B0X 16/32-bit RISC microcontroller (ARM7TDMI). This board consists of S3C44B0X, boot Flash, SDRAM, Nand Flash, RTC, two serial ports, IIS (sound) interface, IDE port, JTAG interface, 8-Segment display, Ethernet interface and USB interface, a 320◊240 LCD with touch screen and a 4◊4 keypad are also provided with this board. Plenty of laboratory exercises with teaching materials are provided with this board. uC/OS-II and ucLinux Operating System ports for this board are also available. .
The EmbestUniversity kit includes the Embest IDE for ARM Development Suite (Editor, C-Compiler & Linker, Software Debugger and Project manager).
Two different In-Circuit JTAG Debugger options are available: PowerICE or UnetICE. (please select the desired debugger from the drop-down menu at the bottom of this page). PowerICE features a parallel port PC interface, UnetICE features a USB and Ethernet PC interface.

The laboratory exercises book is named "Embedded System Development and Labs". This book is based on the Embest S3CEV40 board. The Labs include five parts: basic labs for embedded development, basic device interfacing labs, complex human-machine interfacing labs, communication and voice interface labs, embedded RTOS (Real-Time Operating Systems) porting and application development. These five parts have 22 Labs in total. The labs increase in their difficulty as the book progresses through more material. The labs are very practical and target real world applications. The reader can quickly master the skills that are needed to develop real projects. The purpose of this book is to develop studentsí creation ability, design ability and real world engineering project development ability. This lab manual can be used as a reference book for embedded system development based on ARM. We provide this book as a PDF file on the included CD-ROM.
