
PIC board with Tri-band GSM/GPRS modem, Audio In/Out, USB, RS232, Ethernet, 2x Relays, Temperature Sensor, Analog Inputs and General Purpose Digital I/Os. This board ships pre-loaded with demo software. For details on the demo software's capabilities, read the user manual (link at bottom of this page). Possible implementations based on the hardware features of this board include (you need to develop your own software to implement such functions): With the PIC-GSM, you could easily monitor and control remote locations with a GSM cellular phone or a mobile SMS device. Relays may be opened or closed remotely by SMS. GPIOs can be monitored or toggled. Using a cellular device, a call to the GSM module can enable the user to speak or listen on the audio channel of the board. Temperatures can be monitored from several digital remote temperature sensors. The built-in GSM module has an on-board antenna which allows you to use it as a GPRS data modem; you could also connect it to your computer as a wireless modem. You can configure panic buttons and alarm inputs that dial your mobile device and report alarms or send an SMS message. The PIC-GSM comes with the PIC18F97J60 on board, which features an internal MAC/PHY layer which can be used to implement Microchip's TCP/IP Stack and web server.
