
Complete Evaluation Kit for Cirrus Logic EP9315 ARM920T Microcontroller, Capable of supporting Linux, WinCE or any embedded operating system The NK9315 Evaluation Board is a full-featured evaluation board using a Cirrus Logic EP9315 ARM9-based processor. The ARM920T microprocessor core with separate 16 kByte 64-way set-associative instruction and data caches is augmented by the MaverickCrunch co-processor. The proprietary MaverickKey unique hardware-programmed IDs provide an excellent solution to the growing concern over secure Web content and commerce. The NK9315 EVB provides you with the ability to evaluate the EP9315 capabilities, image quality and feature set delivered through a system-oriented evaluation development board. Peripheral devices such as an IDE interface, VGA, LCD interface, video encoder, USB ports, analog audio input, analog audio output, AC97 codec, 10/100 Ethernet, RS232, and PS/2 keyboard interface provide an effective way to evaluate the EP9315 in a complete system environment. The board also has a PCMCIA interface on the underside which supports one 16-bit PCMCIA PC Card to add memory, mass storage and I/O capabilities to computer systems, and thus can be used to further broaden the options of your platform. The LCD and Raster interface of the EP9315 has a graphics accelerator which is used in the system to off-load graphics operations from the processor. EP9315 Microcontrollers Overview The Cirrus Logic EP9315 processor consists of a 32-bit RISC (ARM920T) CPU core, separate 16KB instruction cache and 16KB data cache, MMU to handle virtual memory management, EIDE, Ethernet, three-port USB2.0 host, three UARTs, IrDA Interface, Raster/LCD & touchscreen interface, SPI port, AC97 interface, IIS interface, 32-bit SDRAM interface, 32/16/8 SRAM/Flash/ROM interface, Serial EEPROM interface, keyboard or keypad peripheral interface, Real-time clock with software trim, 12-channel DMA, Boot ROM, Dual PLLs controlling all clock domains, Watchdog timer, 16 enhanced GPIOs including interrupt capability and 31 additional optional GPIOs multiplexed on peripherals. The EP9315 additionally includes a PCMCIA interface. The ARM920T core of the EP9315 functions with a maximum operating clock rate of 200 MHz. EP9315 Evaluation Kit Software The software included with the development kit are WINCE.net 4.2 BSP / Embedded Linux 2.4.21 kernel and a download utility. All are in source code. The WINCE.net BSP source code provides you with the ability to test some of the subsystems such as IDE interface, LCD/VGA, Ethernet, PS/2, UART, USB Host, IIS, AC97, etc., on the NK9315 Evaluation Board. Included along with embedded Linux 2.4.21 kernel source code are drivers, Redboot, QT demo and a Linux Cross-Compiler tool chain.
