ZIF DIP Socket Adapter for In-Circuit Programmers US$85.00

ISP2ZIF
ZIF DIP Socket Adapter for In-Circuit Programmers

With ISP2ZIF, you can use an in-system programmer to program DIP devices out of circuit.

Note that this is not a programmer by itself.

This adapter is provided with a 40-pin Zero Insertion Force socket (ZIF) which accepts 300 to 600 mils wide devices.

ISP2ZIF works well for most programmable devices like Microchip PIC and Atmel AVR and AT89S (8051 architecture) microcontrollers in DIP packages up to 40 pins. You can connect any device pin to any of 7 programming signals (VPP/13V, VDD, GND, DATA/MOSI, CLOCK, MISO, LVP).

Typical usage example

  • Connect the ISP2ZIF to an in-system programmer such as the PRESTO or FORTE using the programmer's ICSP cable.
  • Place the device to be programmed (e.g. PIC or AVR MCU) into the ZIF socket.
  • Connect programming signals to the corresponding pins of the device by plugging jumpers onto appropriate positions in the pin array.

Example settings are given in the ISP2ZIF User's Guide (PDF file, 933kB).
