This kit contains the Embedded Serial Buses Board, a full version C compiler with IDE, and an In-Circuit Programmer and Debugger, at a savings of $50 over purchasing each of the components separately. The Embedded Serial Buses Board is designed to give you an introduction to various microcontroller serial buses. It's easy to use, as no wiring is involved. The board has two nodes and shares common components between different MCUs. The first node has a PIC16F877A chip connected to a 74HC165 expanded input chip, which allows you to read a bank of eight DIP switches. Four 74HC595 expanded output chips allow you to write display information on four 7-segment LEDs. This node also has a serial real-time clock. The second node has a PIC16F876A chip, which shares an I2C temperature sensor and a serial EEPROM with the first node. This allows you to investigate data collision while accessing shared components. Each node has its own potentiometer, LEDs, push-button and RS-232 port. Embedded Serial Buses Development Kit Contents The black carrying case shown is no longer included.
