MOD-IRDA is an add-on for systems with a UEXT expansion connector. It will allow you to add Infra-red communication capability to the system. It features an IR receiver and an IR LED, so you can create a remote control or create a device that can be controlled by an existing remote.
The IR transmitter and receiver are connected directly to the UEXT's UART TX/RX pins. There also is the MOD-IRDA+ version which features an MCU that facilitates an I2C/SPI interface.
IrDA Add-on Module Features
- IR receiver, up to 5 meter distance
- High efficiency IR LED
- UEXT connector (see below)
- Dimensions: 29 × 18 mm (1.1 × 0.7")
UEXT Connector The UEXT connector provides a solderless way to connect this module to a system with a microcontroller. There are dozens of microcontroller systems and development boards that can connect to this module via UEXT. Click on the architectures below for lists of compatible boards: Unlike most UEXT modules, the MOD-IRDA has a female connector, so it plugs directly into the host board rather than via a cable.
