  • WiFi3 click is a complete self-contained WiFi solution carrying the ESP8266 module with a system on chip. The module has an integrated TCP/IP stack, supports WiFi Direct (p2p) and boasts powerful processing and storage capabilities that off-load all networking functions from the host MCU.

    Alongside a standard mikroBUS socket, with WiFi3 click you'll also have six additional GPIO pins at your disposal to connect and control external electronics. This module makes it very simple to connect various things to the internet (hence the expression Internet of Things), e.g. a simple LED, a data logger, or some type of sensor or switch in a smart home.

    WiFi3 click communicates with your target board's microcontroller through mikroBUS RX, TX, AN (PWD) and RST (G15) lines. When you plug the WiFi3 click into your mikroBUS socket, set the PWD pin to VCC and the G15 pin to GND from within your code.

    Note: This board uses a 3.3V power supply only.

    Note: The picture shows the board with through-hole headers. The board now comes populated with male pin headers already soldered for your convenience (for the mikroBUS connection pins only). The board's user manual has yet to be updated to remove the soldering instructions.

    mikroBUS Click Boards Overview

    Click boards plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. The sockets are found on Clicker boards, the Flip & Click Arduino/Python-compatible board, the Quail board, these mikromedia shields, the Microchip Curiosity board, and development systems from mikroElektronika (V7 systems and later).

    You also can connect Click boards to many other popular platforms via these adapters:

    Note that while this board comes with pins to install for the mikroBUS interface, it does not come with pins to use on the GPIO headers. If you want to use that extra interface, you'll need to supply pin headers. A strip can be added to your order using the option checkbox below.
