See how it works before breaking apart and sewing
The ProtoSnap E-Sewing Kit attaches a LilyPad coin cell breakout board to a switch, a button, and five LEDs. All the parts come pre-wired so you can plug in the included CR2032 battery and use the switch and button to turn the LEDs on and off. The stitch line on the PCB shows you how the pieces are wired.
Once you understand the wiring and how the LEDs and switches work together, you can break off the individual components and sew them into clothing just like you would with their normal LilyPad counterparts.
Complete, ready-to-use kit As well as the battery and the eight components in the ProtoSnap configuration pictured above, the kit comes with a bobbin of conductive thread, a set of needles for sewing, and a cloth into which you can sew a test circuit.
