  • GP2S700HCP reflective photointerrupter

  • 3.3V or 5V power supply
  • IR reflect click carries a GP2S700HCP reflective photointerrupter and an on-board potentiometer. On this type of photointerrupter the infrared emitter and receiver are facing the same direction; the infrared beam from the emitter gets bounced back to the receiver when an object is placed within the detecting range of the sensor. (Compare to the IR eclipse click where the transmitter and receiver face each other.)

    The module communicates with your target board's microcontroller through mikroBUS AN and INT pins (the potentiometer sets the Interrupt threshold).

    The optimal detecting range is 3mm. You'll get different results depending on the object you place in its vicinity. Shiny metallic surfaces readily reflect the infrared beam from a greater distance than anything else, while black objects won't trigger it at all. Also, other infrared light sources (such as from an ordinary incandescent light bulb) can have a negative impact on the performance of the sensor.

    This board can use 3.3V or 5V power supply, determined by setting a solder jumper (in 3.3V position by default).

    Note: The picture shows the board with through-hole headers. The board now comes populated with male pin headers already soldered for your convenience. The board's user manual has yet to be updated to remove the soldering instructions.
