STM32 M4 Clicker is a compact development board featuring an ST Microelectronics STM32F415RG 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller, two indicator LEDs, two general-purpose buttons, a reset button, a mini-USB connector, and a mikroBUS host socket that allows you to plug in one of more than 100 different plug-and-play peripheral modules (called Click boards). The STM32 chip comes preprogrammed with fast USB HID bootloader, so you can load code into it without needing an external programmer.
If you want to use an external programmer, pads are available on the board for installing a header compatible with the mikroProg-STM32. With an optional adapter, you also could connect an ST-LINK/V2.
The board also has a row of pads for connection to external electronics: GND, 3V3, PA4, PA5, PA6, PA7, PB9, PB8, PB7, PB6. The mikroBUS host connector consists of two 1×8 female headers with SPI, I2C, UART, RST, PWM, Analog and Interrupt lines as well as 3.3V, 5V and GND power lines.
The user LEDs can be used for visual indication of the logic state on pins PA1 and PA2. The user buttons are connected to PC0 and PC1.
The STM32 M4 Clicker board can be powered over a USB cable. On-board power circuitry generates 3.3V and 5V. A green LED indicates the presence of power supply. The module also has VBAT pins so you can connect a battery to power the MCU's hibernation module, allowing attached Click board gadgets to keep track of time even when the main power supply is removed.
