The SmartGLCD 240×128 Board is a full-featured tool for easy development of embedded graphical applications using a PIC18F87K22 MCU. The board features a 240×128 Graphic LCD (with RA6963C) that has an RGB backlight and a Touch Screen. The RGB backlight allows you to select what color backlighting you want (16 million possible colors).
The PIC18F87K22 microcontroller comes with bootloader firmware, so you can just connect a mini-USB cable to the board and program the microcontroller using the SmartGLCD Bootloader software for Windows.
Pads are on the board for installing an in-circuit programming header if you want to use an external programmer.

|Contrast potentiometer ||This potentiometer can be used to change the contrast of the GLCD. The brighter the backlight, the less contrast you will need to display the your graphical content properly. |
|mini-USB UART connector ||The on-board FTDI chip allows you to communicate with a PC or other UART devices using USB-UART connection. It is facilitated by an FTDI FT232RL controller. The board also can be powered via USB. |
|microSD card slot ||You can store large amounts of data on a microSD card using fast SPI communication. |
|Piezo buzzer ||You can use the buzzer during debugging or as an audio signal in your application. It can be connected to two digital output pins, one of which is the output of the PWM module. |

Example Software Software examples are provided both pre-compiled and as source code for mikroC, mikroBASIC and mikroPascal. The examples let you calibrate and test the touchscreen, use the touchscreen to change the color of the RGB backlight, and use a keyboard demo that will display what you "type" on the virtual keyboard.
Package Contents The SmartGLCD board ships with a mini-USB cable, printed documentation, and a CD-ROM with documentation and code examples. Note: A stylus for the touchscreen is not included. You can add one using the option selectors below.
