PIC18F87J50 Board, Bootloader, 2 mikroBUS: clicker 2 for PIC18FJ US$39.00

MIKROE-1684
PIC18F87J50 Board, Bootloader, 2 mikroBUS: clicker 2 for PIC18FJ

Combine various sensors, displays, motor drivers or communication modules to blend different functionalities together and come up with new and original gadgets!

Clicker 2 for PIC18FJ is a compact development board featuring a Microchip PIC18F87J50 microcontroller and two mikroBUS host sockets that allow you to plug in any two out of more than 90 different plug-and-play peripheral modules (called Click boards). The PIC18FJ chip comes preprogrammed with a fast USB HID bootloader, so you can load code into it without needing an external programmer.

If you want to use an external programmer, pads are available on the board for installing a header compatible with the mikroProg-PIC. Header pins are included for this purpose.

The board also has two rows of pads (26 pins each; headers included) for connection to external electronics (compatible with the mikromedia shields shown in the options below), and a LiPo battery connector (for Molex 5264-2P). An LTC3586-2 power management IC allows charging of a connected battery via USB and provides 3.3V or 5V to your click boards. The mikroBUS host connectors consist of two 18 female headers with SPI, I2C, UART, RST, PWM, Analog and Interrupt lines as well as 3.3V, 5V and GND power lines.

Rounding off the board's features are some buttons (two User; one Reset), LEDs (two User; Power; Charge Status), and pads for connecting your own external on/off switch if the on-board switch is not convenient (e.g. if the board is going into an enclosure).

The user LEDs can be used for visual indication of the logic state on pins RD4 and RE4. The user buttons are connected to RD7 and RH3. An 8MHz crystal oscillator circuit provides an external clock waveform to the microcontroller's CLK0 and CLK1 pins. That base frequency is suitable for further clock multipliers and is ideal for generation of the necessary USB clock.

The board measures 60.45 81.15 mm (2.4 3.2 inches).
