  • 9DOF click carries ST's LSM9DS1 iNEMO inertial measurement module that combines a 3D accelerometer, a 3D gyroscope and a 3D magnetometer into a single device producing so-called Nine Degrees of Freedom data (3-axis acceleration, angular velocity and heading), in 16-bit resolution. The advantage of the accel/gyro/compass combination is that it gives enough data to orient an object in space in relation to its initial position, i.e. dead reckoning.

    The accelerometer measures full-scale 2/4/8/16 g acceleration. The magnetometer has 4/8/12/16 gauss magnetic, also full scale. The angular rate of the gyroscope is 245/500/2000 dps, full scale. The LSM9DS1 also integrates a FIFO buffer for all three channels of the accelerometer and gyroscope.

    9DOF click communicates with your target MCU through the mikroBUS I2C interface (SCL and SDA) with additional functionality provided by the programmable Interrupt (INT) pin, as well as the Enable (EN) pin. The IC has multiple interrupt lines which can be activated by soldering jumpers J3-J6 on the board (J6 is made by default). The I2C address can be specified in the same manner (jumpers are in positions 0,0 by default).

    This board is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only.

    Note: The picture shows the board with through-hole headers. The board now comes populated with male pin headers already soldered for your convenience. The board's user manual has yet to be updated to remove the soldering instructions.

    mikroBUS Click Boards Overview

    Click boards plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. The sockets are found on Clicker boards, the Flip & Click Arduino/Python-compatible board, the Quail board, these mikromedia shields, the Microchip Curiosity board, and development systems from mikroElektronika (V7 systems and later).
